Shiki Shin Funi is a Buddhist principle that means the body and mind are two aspects of the same life.

Your body includes everything physical—your health, senses, and actions—while your mind includes your thoughts, emotions, attitudes, and inner life. Like the two sides of a coin, they have different roles but are inseparable parts of one whole.

In everyday life, this means that your mental and physical states continuously influence each other. When you feel hopeful, confident, and at peace, your body often responds with greater energy and resilience. Likewise, getting enough sleep, eating well, exercising, and taking care of your physical health can improve your mood and mental clarity. 

In Nichiren Buddhism, this principle reminds us that lasting happiness and personal growth come from nurturing both body and mind, recognizing them as a unified expression of life.
